KHONSA, 15 May: A chocked stream in the town here in Tirap district was cleared by the district administration in collaboration with the DUDA and the Khonsa Bazaar Welfare Committee on Saturday.
The blockages near the gas agency and Type 3 Colony were cleared during the mass social service, which was also joined by local youths.
DUDA AE Lienwang Hosai appealed to the people to not throw garbage in the stream to allow free flow of water. Hosai said the people should use dustbins which have already been provided to every colony of Khonsa town for disposal of garbage.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize said that action will be taken in consultation with the DUDA to revive the stream. Mize also said that social service will be conducted every Saturday to keep the town neat and clean. (DIPRO)
