Union demands dismantling of illegal structures

LEMMI, 31 May: The Pakke-Kessang District Law Student Union has submitted a representation to the deputy commissioner, seeking immediate dismantling of “illegal under-construction structures being constructed by the people of Pakke-Kessang within the boundary demarcation area of the community health centre (CHC) in Pakke-Kessang.”

The union also sought immediate procurement of medical equipments for the CHC. It said it is imperative to improve the health infrastructure in the district in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. It also sought immediate establishment of a “clinical laboratory testing centre.”

The union’s other demands include posting of a specialist doctor and medical staff to the Pakke-Kessang CHC, and dismantling of illegal structures constructed on the right of way on NH 229, “in particular from V Geka Point to Rebang Point.”
