DC convenes meeting on vaccination status

AALO, 16 Jun: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi on Tuesday convened a meeting with officials of the health department and other stakeholders to know the status of the vaccination drive for all age groups in the district.

“The preparation of targeted people based on the electoral roll may give us a less percentage as many people have enrolled their names in the district and are taking the vaccine in their places of posting and dwelling. This has to be thoroughly identified along with pregnant women and patients advised not to take the vaccine on medical grounds,” the DC said.

ZPC Babom Romin said that the panchayat leaders are also playing a proactive role in the process of vaccination, while Yomcha ADC Hento Karga said that poor network connectivity hinders online application for vaccination in circles like Liromoba and Yomcha.

The 2nd APP Bn commandant informed that 94 percent of the battalion’s personnel have taken the vaccine, “though it has been poorly reflected in the vaccination web portal due to communication gap.”

DMO Dr Moli Riba, DFWO Dr Tomar Kamki and DSO Dr Jombom Kato said that effort is being made to cover all by taking the vaccination drive to the circles of the district. The left-out healthcare workers and frontline workers are to be vaccinated by the 18th of this month as per the norms, they said, adding that the vaccine has been made available in plenty and people in the age group of 18 and above will be targeted soon in a big way.

The CDPOs who are placed with the healthcare workers, along with their supervisors and anganwadi workers were asked to “gear up the missed-out workers and play keen roles in the vaccination drive.” (DIPRO)
