BOLENG, 16 Jun: The Siang District Water and Sanitation Mission held a meeting here on 15 June for finalizing the district’s 2021-2023 annual action plan under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
Proposals were made for convergence of funds for implementation of the ongoing schemes under the JJM and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). New proposals were made for 21 and 36 new schemes under the JJM for 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively, and were approved.
In line with the chief minister’s assurance to meet the target of water for all habitations by 2023, 65 percent of the households in the villages in Siang district have been fitted with functional household tap connection (FHTC).
During 2021-23, 1,699 households in 37 habitations are targeted to be provided with FHTC to achieve 100 percent tap water connection in every household in all habitations within the district. (DIPRO)
