KATANG, 16 Jun: Micro planning committees have been formed for every segment of Lamsa-Katang and Khela-Bunting blocks to ensure full Covid vaccination coverage of the eligible beneficiaries in Bari Basip circle of Tirap district.
This was informed by Bari Basip CO Nekong Perme during a coordination meeting of the district administration, health workers, WCD officials, panchayat members and CBOs here on Wednesday to improve the Covid vaccination coverage in Bari Basip circle.
During the meeting, discussions were also held on creating public awareness about fake messages circulating on social media which has led to reluctance among people to receive free Covishield vaccine jabs.
Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, who also attended the meeting, appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to avail free Covishield vaccination from the nearest health centre without any fear and hesitation. He urged all to maintain the Covid SOPs.
CDPO N Matey urged all the anganwadi workers in Bari Basip circle to conduct door-to-door public awareness campaigns regarding the importance of Covishield vaccination.
Khonsa General Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr K Socia informed that there has been no report of any side effects among those who have received the vaccine in the district. (DIPRO)
