Short-circuit interrupts power supply in ICR

ITANAGAR, 16 Jun: The current transformer (CT) of the Chandranagar power station reportedly short-circuited on Wednesday, affecting power supply to a few sectors in the scorching heat in Itanagar.

Department sources informed that the CT got burnt due to a short-circuit. It reportedly affected two 11 kv lines, which caused disruption in the central power house feeder, leading to power cuts for hours in Upper ESS Sector, RWD Colony and E Sector.

Another 11 kv line which was disrupted due to a short-circuit in the CT reportedly affected power supply to Ganga village, Khating Hills, Gohpur and the zoo road areas for three hours.

When contacted, Power Department Executive Engineer Joram Lali informed that the “disruption has been restored.” He said that

 the department’s ground staffers work round the clock to ensure uninterrupted power supply in and around Itanagar.
