BOMDILA, 24 Sep: The West Kameng district child protection unit (DCPU) organized an orientation programme on the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act here on Friday.
Besides the CDPOs of the district, the child welfare police officer and members of the special juvenile police unit, the Child Welfare Committee and NGOs participated in it.
Bomdila Police Station OC K Dev made a presentation on the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, and spoke about children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with the law.
DCPU Protection Officer Rinchin Megejee dwelt on the POCSO Act, and elaborated the different types of sexual offences along with the punishment associated with them.
DCPU counsellor Sameer Khabisow spoke about child trafficking and said such cases need to be addressed. (DIPRO)
