Skill dev training imparted to over 6,000 people

ITANAGAR, 24 Sep: As many as 6,307 persons from across the state were trained in plumbing, masonry and basic electrical jobs under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in a span of around six months.

The skill training for the last batch, which was organized at the ITI in Manipolyang in Lower Subansiri district, concluded on Friday.

Attending the certificate distribution ceremony, Ziro EAC Tame Yajum spoke about the JJM, its scope, and the entire implementation of the training process.

PHE&WS EE Nich Raju highlighted the importance of conducting such training programmes in the state.

Sponsored by the public health engineering & water supply department, the training was conducted in 25 districts by the skill development & entrepreneurship department. The training programme had started in the last week of March this year.

The training was imparted through three empanelled training providers – Reflexion Digital Pvt Ltd, the Zentex Educational Welfare Society, and Yuva Arunachal.

The goal of the JJM is to provide functional household tap connection to every household with service level at the rate of 55 litres per capita per day. Hence, the main objective of the training was to build the capacity of the local communities to own, manage, operate and maintain the water supply systems in the villages.
