RUKSIN, 5 Feb: A three-day ‘Block level foundation-cum-functional training programme’, organized by the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR), in collaboration with the East Siang district administration, concluded here on Saturday.
The programme covered topics such as the PRI system, the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Acts of 1992 and 1997; the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 2018; the SPICE model decentralized planning; powers and functions of elected panchayat members, and the role of the panchayat functionaries.
Ruksin ADC T Jonnom, who inaugurated the programme, urged the PRI members to know their powers and duties “for implementation of the panchayat and rural development schemes and other settlements.”
SIRD course coordinator SW Bagang, Extension Officer D Dunggong and department officials imparted the training.
The concluding day’s programme focused on the components of the 15th Finance Commission, the salient features of the MGNREGA, the SASP, the Social Security Scheme, ‘the role of PRI in its stride towards Goal 2030’, and other topics.
Sixty-one persons, including PRI members, computer assistants and account assistants of Ruksin block participated in the training programme.
