NAMSAI, 10 Feb: Twenty-five women farmers participated in a programme themed ‘National campaign on World Pulses Day’, organized by the Namsai KVK at Nanam Khamti Habigaon village on Thursday.
Addressing the participants, plant protection scientist Dr Madhumita Sonowal Bora dwelt on “the importance of pulse cultivation, which increases the fertility of soil and consumption of pulse in food.” She also explained “rearing of honeybee colonies in pulse crop.”
ArSRLM member Aruna Sonowal also spoke.
Packets of vegetables’ seeds were later distributed among the participants.
