ITANAGAR, 12 Feb: The skill development & entrepreneurship (SDE) department organized an ’employable skill development training’ programme for 80 candidates belonging to the Puroik community.
The training, sponsored by the social justice & empowerment and tribal affairs department, was imparted through empanelled training providers exclusively for members of the Puroik community who reside in far-flung areas of East Kameng, Papum Pare, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts.
The candidates were trained to work as chauffeurs, taxi drivers, domestic data entry operators, self-employed tailors and assistant electricians by resource persons from the Nurture Employability & Economic Development Society (NEEDS), the Valuer Fabtex Pvt Ltd, and Reflexion Digital Pvt Ltd.
SDE Director Subu Tabin gave away the course completion certificates to 22 youths who were trained as domestic data entry operators by Valuer Fabtex Pvt Ltd in Itanagar. SDE Assistant Director Jumbom Riba gave away the course completion certificates to 20 youths in Nirjuli who were trained as chauffeurs and taxi drivers by NEEDS.
The programme was also attended by All Puroik Welfare Society information & publicity secretary Anil Puroik.
