ITANAGAR, 10 Mar: An integrated hospital management information system (iHMIS) was launched from the Itafort UPHC here on Friday by the health department, in the presence of Health Minister Alo Libang, his advisor Goruk Pordung, NHM Mission Director CR Khampa, DHS Dr M Lego, ICR DMO Dr M Perme, NUHM nodal officer Dr R Dodum and state nodal officer for the iHMIS project, Dr Gomi Basar.
On the occasion, Yolo Health chairman Naveen Prakash, with the help of a hi-tech ‘health ATM kiosk’ installed at the UPHC, connected the UPHC to the TRIHMS telemedicine hub for live teleconsultation with specialist doctors.
The iHMIS is one of the flagship schemes of the Centre to strengthen the healthcare system under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, as recommended by the National Health Policy, 2017, to achieve the vision of universal health coverage.
The health department is going to replicate it in another 98 PHC and CHCs and all 25 district hospitals across the state with TRIHMS and BPGH as teleconsultation hubs.
A total of 225 CHCs, PHCs and district hospitals are also going to be digitalised under the iHMIS project within the next six months, informed a health department release.
