NAMSAI, 14 Mar: The annual three-day sports and cultural meet of the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS), titled ‘URJA 2022’, concluded here on 13 March.
The meet featured various sports, cultural and literary competitions, held under the central government’s ‘Khelo India’ initiative.
The event also provided a platform for the students to present unbiased opinions on social topics such as ‘Sports and culture of India’ and ‘Hijab – symbol of identity or tool of oppression?’.
Deputy Director of Education Koing Samon Umbon and Tai Khampti Singpho Student’s Union literary secretary Youngwa Chowpoo were the judges.
Besides the students, AUS chairman Dr Ashwani Lochan, pro-chancellor Vishva Lochan, vice chancellor Prof B Mohan Kumar, deans, directors and faculty members attended the festival.
The competitions were held among four in-campus houses, ie, Kamlang, Lohit, Hornbill and Brahmaputra.
On the final day, Lohit House was adjudged the winner, followed by Brahmaputra House as runner-up.
