ITANAGAR, 14 Mar: The Itanagar-based Northeast Regional Centre (NERC) of the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment conducted a training programme on ‘low-cost rural technologies’ at its rural technology centre in DNG College here on Monday.
The programme was attended by 25 women from different SHGs of Rose and Lekhi villages in Papum Pare district.
NERC head MS Lodhi made a presentation on rural agricultural technologies, their application for productivity enhancement, and post-harvest management of crops.
A field demonstration of different technologies, including nursery techniques, polyhouse, trellis system, plastic film technology, pitcher irrigation, weed composting, vermicomposting, bio-briquetting and zero-energy cool chamber was also presented.
Vermicompost packets were later distributed among all the participants.
