ROING, 3 Apr: The Jomin Tayeng Government Model Degree College (JTGMDC) celebrated its 5th annual College Day on Saturday in the college campus in Jemi-Notko here in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district.
The celebration was conducted under the theme ‘Say no to drugs and yes to life’, and was inaugurated by LDV SP James Kabang Lego.
Lego exhorted the students to “work hard and strive for a bright future as this is the time to make career ahead.” Giving examples of criminal cases, he advised the students to be cautious while engaging in social media, and to stay away from drugs.
The annual sports day started with a marathon competition, which was flagged off by DSP Ringu Ngupok.
During the valedictory function, JTGMDC Principal Dr Milorai Modi gave away the prizes and commended the students and the teachers for successfully organising the event.
Reh House emerged the champion, and Piime House was adjudged the most disciplined.
