Assn mourns Obyak Ering’s death

ITANAGAR, 9 May: The Karko Ao Welfare Association (KAWA) has deeply mourned the sudden demise of one of its senior members, Obyak Ering, the younger brother of former union deputy minister Daying Ering, on Sunday.

Obyak was born in Roying village, and is survived by two sons and four daughters. One of his sons is the KAWA’s present East Siang district unit vice president.

“He was a very successful businessman, a philanthropist and popular public figure of East Siang district,” the KAWA stated in a condolence message, adding that “his contributions and services rendered towards KAWA will always be remembered.”

Obyak had held the post of the District Congress Committee president and many other portfolios in many organisations and associations.

At the time of his demise, he was serving as the president of the Pasighat Market Welfare Association.

“Ering was a great orator and social activist. He was a man of one word and one decision,” the KAWA said, and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
