The portal is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and developed by the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited. It was inaugurated by President of India Ram Nath Kovind on 4 May this year, during the valedictory ceremony of the North East Festival organised by the DoNER ministry.

The portal aims to facilitate informed career decision by the students, job seekers and entrepreneurs of the northeastern region, and to improve their competitiveness at the national and global level. The event was also attended by union Ports, Shipping & Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Law & Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju, DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy, governors and chief ministers of the NE states, union MoS in the DoNER ministry BL Verma, senior officials of the central and state governments, and eminent personalities of the Northeast.

The portal will act as a virtual mentor in the field of education, employment, and entrepreneurship. Ideated during the 65th plenary session of the NEC, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the NEC to act as a state-of-the-art resource centre for the region, the web portal aims to increase employability and develop entrepreneurship in the region by educating the youths with emerging opportunities and connecting them with the support ecosystem.

The portal also promotes and celebrates success stories of the region and acts as a centre of knowledge-sharing among entrepreneurs, mentors, industry experts, and youths. A true example of being ‘vocal for local’, the portal is designed and developed by experts and talents based in the northeastern region.
