PASIGHAT, 13 May: The 4th semester BEd students of Aalo (W/Siang)-based Teacher Training College recently organised an awareness campaign on ‘adult and girls’ education, mental health and conservation of natural ecosystem’ in different rural areas of the district.
A report from Aalo revealed that the students, divided into four groups, conducted awareness programmes simultaneously at Panya village, Aiker Gumin, Taba Sora and Aalo New Market. They adopted popular talk, music, dance and drama as mediums for bringing awareness among the rural people on adult and girls’ education, mental health, and conservation of ecosystem.
They also conducted cleanliness drives and mobilised the local residents to keep their surroundings clean to prevent communicable diseases.
The awareness campaign was supervised by Assistant Professors Techi Yana and Asha Dujom, while Principal (in-charge) Minam Tayeng-Ado monitored the overall activities.
