YUPIA, 21 May: Forty-nine students had their bank accounts opened during a ‘bank mela’ organised at the government secondary school in Jote in Papum Pare district on 20 May, under the supervision of Sangdupota CO Yakar Dawe.
Representatives of Canara Bank and the SBI participated in the programme.
The state government is emphasising on opening bank account for every student by 31 May, since all government schemes and funds for school uniforms, stipends, girls’ hygiene, etc, can be transferred to their accounts through DBT. (DIPRO)
