DCM releases book on Kamlang tiger reserve

ITANAGAR, 7 May: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday released a book titled Kamlang Tiger Reserve – at a Glance, authored by Kamlang Tiger Reserve DFO Cheshta Singh, in the presence of Home Minister Bamang Felix, MLAs Balo Raja and Ojing Tasing, Chief Secretary (in-charge) Sharath Chauhan, PCCF RK Singh, Planning Commissioner Prashant Lokhande, and others.

The book contains documentation of the rare flora and fauna found in the tiger reserve.

Mein said that the Kamlang Tiger Reserve, located adjacent to the Namdapha Tiger Reserve, “can form a nature trail and can be an exciting trekking track passing through Glaw Lake in Lohit district to Mehao Lake in Lower Dibang Valley district.”

He lauded Singh “for her endeavour for documentation of rare flora and fauna of Kamlang Tiger Reserve and bringing out such a beautiful book in just two years of her stay in Arunachal Pradesh.”

“It indicates her enthusiasm and dedication to her profession,” Mein said, and added that the book would be useful for young scholars and would also “inspire them in writing and documentation of the rich natural heritage of the state.”
