AALO, 10 Jun: West Siang DC Penga Tato on Friday declared Aalo town as a plastic-free zone.
“To begin with,” the DC said, “no plastic will be used in my office.”
The DC, who chaired a meeting regarding bio-waste management here, asked the private laboratories to properly manage medical waste.
DMO Dr Dubom Bagra highlighted the problems faced in management and disposal of biomedical waste and segregation of waste materials due to the lack of a dumping zone.
According to the urban development (UD) department, a dumping zone is yet to be identified.
Medical Superintendent Dr Jombom Kato urged the UD department to provide a vehicle for lifting medical waste. (DIPRO)
