NAHARLAGUN, 15 Jun: The health department on Wednesday, gave a warm farewell to health and family welfare (HFW) secretary P. Parthiban after his transfer to New Delhi as expenditure department’s deputy secretary.
Parthiban had taken over the charge as HFW secretary on 28 August, 2019. He was also looking after the additional charge of MD (NHM) for some time.
“It was due to his dynamic and untiring leadership that the health department could contain the Covid pandemic in the state,” health services director Dr. M Lego said, adding that his contribution to the state will always be remembered.
DFW Dr. Emi Rumi thanked him for streamlining the administrative posts of the department.
DME Dr. Hage Ambing said that Parthiban was instrumental in the setting up of nursing colleges in the state. Ambing wished him all the best for his next inning.
The farewell function at DK convention hall was attended by the officers and staffs of the health department.
