ITANAGAR, 29 Jun: Arunachal Pradesh u-17 girls’ football team created history by entering into maiden semifinal of the Hero Jr. Women’s National Football Championship.
Arunachal stormed into the semifinals, defeating Chhattisgarh by solitary goal in a keenly contested second quarterfinal match played in Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday.
Talo Ana netted the all important goal in the 38th minutes of the first half.
Arunachal will meet the winner of the fourth quarterfinal to be played between Kerala and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on Thursday.
Arunachal Pradesh Football Association congratulated the players and the officials of state team for the feat and wished them all the best for their upcoming match.
In another quarterfinal match, Bihar defeated Manipur.
