Libang assures to ‘upgrade’ financial assistance for paralympic sports events

ITANAGAR, 30 Jun: SJETA Minister Alo Libang said that he would support promotion and development of paralympic/divyangjan sports activities in the state, and assured to “upgrade the financial assistance for the events to be held.”

Libang said this during a meeting with the executive members of the Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA), led by its vice president Tame Tallang, who had called on him at his office here on Thursday.

The PAA team submitted a memorandum to the minister, seeking financial assistance to organise the 2nd edition of the State Divyangjan Sports Meet on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The PAA also requested for “accommodation facilities for the disabled people for accessibility during the events.”

Libang applauded the PAA “for its tremendous work for the promotion and development of para-sportspersons/divyangjans,” and also assured to provide all support to “elevate the para-sports/divyangjans of the state,” the PAA informed in a release.
