Head constable passes away

ITANAGAR, 10 Jul: Head constable Aku Nalo, who was engaged as the personal security officer (PSO) of Dumporijo MLA Rode Bui, died because of chronic ulcer in Guwahati, Assam, on 9 July, informed the capital unit of the Tagin Welfare Society (TWS).

He was 49.

“Nalo was also a good social worker and his contribution towards promotion and preservation of Si-Donyi festival will always be remembered,” the TWS said.

Describing his death as a great loss for the Tagin society, particularly the Heche family, the TWS unit offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Late Nalo hailed from Ara Nalo village in Upper Subansiri district.

MLA Bui also expressed sincere condolence to the bereaved family. In a letter to late Nalo’s wife, Bui said that he (Nalo) “was not only a security officer to me but a truly great friend who became a family member.”

Terming the PSO a humble, kind-hearted and hardworking man, Bui said that Nalo’s memories will be cherished.
