BASAR, 30 Aug: The tourism department, in collaboration with the Leparada district administration, organised an ‘orientation-cum-training’ programme on homestays at a tourist lodge here on Monday.
A similar programme had been organised on 26 August for Soi and Nyigam villages at the Soi dere here, under the chairpersonship of Leparada DC Mamata Riba, and in the presence of District Tourism Officer Bishal Aran, representatives from the ICAR and the police department, HoDs, and others.
On the occasion, former deputy commissioner and founding chairperson of the Senior Citizen’s Forum, Hengo Basar urged young entrepreneurs to avail various innovative schemes of the state government in the tourism sector.
Training on homestays for unemployed youths and interested individuals of all the circles, including Basar, Dari, Sago and Tirbin, was imparted to boost the tourism potential of the district.
District Tourism Officer Bishal Aran, along with resource persons from the agriculture and the animal husbandry sectors apprised the participants of “the ways and means of homestay business.” (DIPRO)
