TAWANG, 13 Sep: The district level Subroto Cup football tournaments for boys and girls were kicked off by Tawang District Sports Officer Tenzin Jambey at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso stadium here on Tuesday, in the presence of BEO (HQ) Thupten Wangchu and officers and officials of the education department.
Eight boys’ and an equal number of girls’ teams from all the secondary and higher secondary schools and KGBVs in the district are participating in the tournament, being organised by the district education department.
In the opening match of the boys’ football tournament, GSS Bomba beat GSS Mogto 4-0.
In the opening match of the girls’ tournament, GHSS Jang defeated GSS Seru in a penalty shootout 4-1. (DIPRO)
