KVs organize workshops on foundational literacy & numeracy

TAWANG, 14 Jun: The Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) here organized a one-day district- level workshop to spread awareness about G20 presidency, foundational literacy and numeracy to improve the teaching-learning process here on Wednesday.

Tawang ADC Rinchin Leta said that the foundational literacy and numeracy are very important for children aged between 3 to 8 years.

He said that more attention should be given to this age-group as it is the right age to build foundation.

“Normally, after classes 3-4 students are taught lessons and attentionĀ  is not given much to reading and writing practices,” the ADC said.

He also highlighted on the recently concluded C-20 summit in Namsai and informed that one of the cultural groups of the C-20 will visit Tawang and perform at Kalawangpo convention hall.

ISSE district planning coordinator Dhondup urged the participating teachers to implement whatever they have learned during the workshop in their schools.

Tawang KV principal in-charge Narendra Bohra highlighted the aims and objective of G-20 Summit.

Earlier, the resource persons from KV, Tawang gave a presentation on teaching-learning process.

KV Sangthan’s Tinsukia (Assam) regional office assistant commissioner Surja Bala Devi also attended the workshop through virtual mode.

Teachers from various schools of Tawang block attended the one-day workshop- cum seminar.

A similar workshop was also organized at KV, Pasighat in East Siang district on Tuesday. (DIPRO)
