NAHARLAGUN, 22 Aug: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tamme Phassang, along with IMC corporators and officials visited the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) here on Monday by way of acknowledging the association’s significant efforts in empowering women and providing a safe haven for orphaned children.
The team interacted with the students and members of the OWA to gain insight into the association’s versatile approach to social development.
Phassang expressed appreciation for the OWA for its selfless dedication to uplift downtrodden individuals and orphans, and emphasised the importance of its work in building a stronger and more inclusive community.
“The heartwarming experience of interacting with the children left a lasting impression on all of us. We assured the children of our unwavering support for their needs, aiming to contribute to their wellbeing and growth,” Phassang told the media persons present.
OWA chairperson Ratan Anya apprised the IMC team of the association’s history, and the challenges faced by it.
IMC Commissioner Likha Tejji also accompanied the mayor.
