BARARUPOK, 31 Aug: Twenty-seven best cadets from the Arunachal Pradesh and the Assam NCC battalions are participating in a 10-day NCC (boys) cadets’ training camp here in Upper Subansiri district.
The camp, being conducted by the Indian Army from 26 August to 5 September, is aimed at inculcating patriotism and self-discipline in the cadets, and channeling the youths’ energy towards nation-building efforts.
While 24 cadets belong to various districts of Arunachal, three hail from Assam.
They are undergoing training to hone their physical fitness, mental agility and basic military skills, besides taking part in a series of lectures, practical classes, visits to different units, and interactions with officers and troops to obtain firsthand knowledge about the Indian Army.
Lessons on morals, ethics and leadership are being taught to the cadets under a capsule themed ‘Training the future leaders’ to inculcate team spirit and tap the hidden potential of the cadets in sports such as volleyball, basketball and badminton.
On completing the training camp, the cadets will be fully capable of directly contributing towards the betterment of their schools, colleges, and societies.
