ZIRO, 24 Oct: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kr Sain, along with Joint CEO Liken Koyu visited Ziro on Sunday to review the first-level checking (FLC) of the electronic voting machines (EVM).
The officers held a review meeting with Lower Subansiri DC Bamin Nime, EAC and electoral registration officer Tame Yajum, and CO and assistant electoral registration officer Amina Nabam at the district secretariat here.
Sain suggested several measures to be taken to ensure smooth and seamless election in the district, and advocated “appointing sufficient supervisors at the polling stations; rationalising polling stations; having contingency plans for rescue and evacuation; and avoidable polling dates and expenditure management.”
The officers also visited the venue of the FLC and the strongroom of the EVMs and the VVPATs.
Earlier in the day, the FLM of the EVMs and the VVPATs was conducted, along with a mock exercise at the secretariat for the representatives of the political parties.
