Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to pray to the APPPSC chairman and members to postpone the APPSC exams to mid-2025.
While we are glad that the commission has published the exam calendar, conducting the exams just five months after issuing the calendar, ie, 15 December this year, will be unfair to a large number of ageing unemployed candidates.
Since the APPSC exams are going to be conducted after a gap of three years, many unemployed and ageing candidates have been preparing for alternative exams like the APSSB-CGL/CHSL and other exams which have completely different exam patterns and syllabi.
The APPSC exams involve a vast syllabus, and it requires at least a year of dedication to be able to get a grasp for the mains exams, and even then many might fail.
Furthermore, even the UPSC notifies the tentative dates for the prestigious CSE a year earlier and conducts the preliminary exams after a gap of three months.
The most deserving candidates are those who have prepared thoroughly for the exams. Therefore, the APPSC should give enough time to the candidates to study and be well-prepared for the exams.
