TAPI, 27 Aug: Three Army personnel died in a vehicle accident that occurred on the Trans-Arunachal Highway (Package-7) stretch near Tapi village in Upper Subansiri district on Tuesday.

The Dumporijo police station OC informed that an Army truck transporting personnel fell into a gorge near here, resulting in the death of the three.

The vehicle was part of a convoy travelling from Daporijo towards Basar (Leparada) when the accident occurred at 6 am.

Local youths and the public of the area immediately rushed to the spot and helped in evacuating the injured persons and retrieving the dead bodies.

Details of the accident were yet to be provided at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the eastern command of the Indian Army has identified the personnel as Havaldar Nakhat Singh, Naik Mukesh Kumar and General Duty Soldier Ashish.
