LEMMI, 27 Sep: A team of the Pakke-Kessang district administration, led by Circle Officer Durin Dai and Trade Development Officer (TDO) Happy Sonam, inspected shops and other trade activities in Pakke-Kessang, Pijeriang and Passa Camp towns to ensure compliance with market regulations and identify any irregular or questionable practices that needed the district administration’s attention.
During the three-day inspection drive, trading licences were checked, fines were imposed against defaulters, and illegally stored items like alcohol, tobacco and petrol/diesel bottles were seized. The seized items were later disposed of on the premises of the DC office, in the presence of the magistrate.
The shopkeepers were sensitised to legal trade practices and relevant laws governing them, such as the guidelines on trading licence, the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act, etc.
The inspection team urged the shopkeepers and traders to adhere to the market regulations in the interest of the public.
The team also comprised Pakke-Kessang PS OC SI Tage Kapa, Trade & Commerce Dealing Assistant Bharat Techi Tara, members of the Market Welfare Committees, and police personnel. (DIPRO)
