PASIGHAT, 15 Oct: The Sigar military station organised an awareness programme on e-waste management for government secondary school children and their parents here in East Siang district on Monday, on the occasion of the International E-Waste Day.
The event was designed to instill a deep understanding of the environmental impact caused by electronic waste, and to underscore the importance of responsible disposal and recycling of e-waste.
The event covered essential aspects of e-waste, including its hazardous components, proper disposal practices, and the intricate recycling processes that safeguard the environment.
Students and their parents were sensitised to the dos and don’ts of e-waste handling, fostering a sense of responsibility towards reducing the toxic burden on the planet.
The highlight of the event was a drawing competition, which provided a creative platform to students to express their ideas on environmental conservation and the future of e-waste management.
