ITANAGAR, 17 Nov: Ginjing Tari of Arunachal Pradesh won a gold medal in the National Track Cycling Championship in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
He won the medal in the youth boys 500 mtrs Time Trial (sprint) event. Tari is the first from Arunachal Pradesh to win a gold medal in a national cycling championship, coach Taka Tamut said.
Andaman & Nicobar’s Messi Karten and Manipur’s Chungkham Mangal Mission took the silver and bronze medals respectively.
Another rider from Arunachal Pissa Yagu will compete on Monday.
