Yanya Karlo receives Janjatiya Gaurav Samman 

ITANAGAR, 17 Nov: The Krishna Chandra Gandhi Foundation, a part of the Guwahati-based Purvottar Janjati Shiksha Samiti, in collaboration with Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, awarded the prestigious Janjatiya Gaurav Samman to vice principal of Abotani Vidya Niketan, Pachin Secondary School, Yanya Karlo on the auspicious occasion of Dharti Aba Bagawan Birsa Munda Jayanti on 15 November.

The award was presented by All India general secretary of Vidya Bharati, Avneesh Bhatnagar to  Karlo in a special ceremony held during the Kshetra Pradhanacharyas sammelan at Hojai in Assam, in recognition of her dedicated and selfless contributions to school education in Arunachal.

Karlo hails from Garu village under Gensi circle in Lower Siang district and she is the daughter of Tamo Karlo and Yai Karlo, who have always supported her dedication to education. Despite the difficulties of living in a remote area, Karlo has always believed in the power of education to bring about change.

Karlo’s journey in the field of education began in 1999 when she started as a volunteer teacher at AVN Pachin school. Despite the challenges of teaching in a remote region, she was determined to provide quality education to the students especially, those from marginalized and indigenous communities. Her commitment and passion for teaching led her to become the vice principal, where she continues to inspire and support students, guiding them to succeed academically and personally.

The event was attended by more than 650 Pradhanacharyas and Karyakartas, along with other esteemed guests, including Baba Satyanarayan Mourya, a renowned artist and singer of Bharat, and Brahmaji Rao, national secretary of Vidya Bharati.
