ITANAGAR, 6 Dec: Governor KT Parnaik has extended greetings to the valiant members of the Indian armed forces on the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day.
Since 1949, the Armed Forces Flag Day is observed on 7 December to honour the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought and continue to fight on the borders to safeguard the country’s honour.
“This day serves as a reminder to express our profound gratitude to these gallant heroes who risk their lives in the line of duty,” the governor said. “It also provides an opportunity to support the families of martyrs, disabled soldiers, and veer naris, acknowledging their immense sacrifices,” he said.
“Let us remember and salute the unmatched valour and dedication of the retired and serving personnel of our army, navy, and the Air Force. May the younger generation draw inspiration from the patriotism and heroism of our martyrs, ensuring that their legacy lives on in our hearts and actions,” he said. (Raj Bhavan)
