Demo prog on improved agri practices

NAMSAI, 16 Dec: Fifteen farmer members of the Khing-Tai Organic Agro-Producers’ Company participated in an exposure-cum-demonstration programme on ‘improved agriculture practices,’ organised by the Indian Grameen Services’ (IGS) Guwahati (Assam)-based regional office and the Khing-Tai Organic Agro-Producers’ Company Ltd, in collaboration with the Namsai KVK, here on Monday.

During the programme, KVK plant protection scientist Dr. Madhumita Sonowal Bora apprised the participants of organic farming practices for turmeric and ginger, and presented a demonstration on vermicompost production.

KVK agricultural extension scientist Shravani Sahani presented a brief on the government schemes for processing turmeric and ginger.

IGS regional head Pradeep Bhuyan also actively interacted with the farmers.

The farmers then visited the different farming units of the KVK.
