DAPORIJO, 16 Dec: The police here in Upper Subansiri district arrested a drug peddler on Monday and seized brown sugar from his possession.
The accused, identified as Jeli Bayor (50), was found in possession of 7.34 grams of brown sugar and 21 plastic tubes containing another 27.23 grams of brown sugar, besides Rs. 80,070 in cash.
Earlier, an FIR had been registered against one Kobu Mosu in connection with drug peddling, and on interrogation, conducted under the supervision of DSP Jeli Bayor, Mosu revealed that Bayor was engaged in bringing drugs from Itanagar and selling it to teenagers in Daporijo.
A case (u/s 21(b) NDPS Act) has been registered against him at the police station here.
