FODAG motivates students to join Indian armed forces

PASIGHAT, 23 Dec: Flag Officer Defence Advisory Group (FODAG) Rear Admiral Rahul Shankar recently visited the Sainik School in Niglok and the government higher secondary school (GHSS) in Ruksin in East Siang district to encourage the students to choose a career in the Indian armed forces and spread awareness about the Indian Navy.

The rear admiral delivered motivational talks to 75 cadets of Class 11 and 12 of the Sainik School and 250 students of Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the GHSS on 20 December.

 During his interactions with the students of both the schools, the admiral informed them about the structure, hierarchy and role of each of the Indian armed forces in war and peace.

He informed the students about various commissioned ranks, recruitment avenues for officers and the permanent commission short service commission schemes.

Responding to the queries from the students, he also briefly outlined the recruitment procedures.

The flag officer advised the students to visit the respective websites of the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force for more and updated details about the selection procedures.

He told the students that the selection procedure to become an officer in the armed forces is tough and multi-tiered, and hence the students who desire to become an officer in the armed forces must work hard.

The talk at the GHSS was also attended by Sainik School Principal Commander Praveen Kumar Pola, Ruksin GHSS Principal Tajom Padung, and East Siang DDSE Odhuk Tabing. (DIPRO)
