BASAR, 30 Jan: MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi reiterated her demand for setting up a women police station here in Leparada district, besides a police outpost in Sago circle, upgradation of Tirbin circle to ADC HQ, and creation of two circles under Tirbin (Tai and Essi Rite).
During a review meeting of Leparada district mentor secretary (MS) Hage Tari with the heads of offices at the DC’s conference hall here on Thursday, Dirchi urged the MS to “pursue and oversee various demands that have already been placed before the government, in the best interest of public welfare and development of the district.”
Dirchi also provided updates on various projects/issues requiring further attention from the state government.
Tari informed that he would serve as a link between the government and the district administration.
“The role of the mentor secretary is to ensure and oversee that government programmes and initiatives are effectively implemented on the ground and benefits are indeed percolated to the targeted beneficiaries,” he said.
He assured to address the issues that were placed before him at the state level for redressal. He expressed confidence that with teamwork and collective efforts from all stakeholders, the district can achieve better governance and service delivery.
Earlier, DC Atul Tayeng presented a brief profile of the district. This was followed by presentations by departmental officials, highlighting the implementation of projects/schemes under their respective departments. The officials also highlighted major issues, challenges and other bottlenecks being faced by them.
District Planning Officer Marto Dirchi also spoke.
All departmental heads of the district, and SP DrThuptan Jambey, among others, attended the meeting.
Earlier in the day, the MLA, accompanied by the MS and other officials, inaugurated a tubectomy camp at Todak Basar District Hospital. Over 15 women benefitted from the tubectomy services offered during the camp.
In addition to the tubectomy camp, a special registration camp was also organised at the district hospital complex, providing registration facilities under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana and the Ayushman Bharat Health Account. (DIPRO)
