Heema Hospital organises blood donation camp

ITANAGAR, 21 Feb: Fifty-one units of blood were collected during a blood donation camp organised by Heema Hospital, in collaboration with the blood bank of RK Mission Hospital, on Thursday to mark the Statehood Day.

“The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Heema Hospital CMD Dr Byabang Rana, who himself was the first to donate blood on the occasion. All the donors were the staff of Heema Hospital, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and other supportive staff, except for two donors, who were from outside,” Heema Hospital informed in a release.

“Notably, female donors outnumbered the male donors at the camp,” it said.

Medical Superintendent Dr Kesang Wangdi Thongdok said that Heema Hospital will organise more such camps in the future, and urged the public to volunteer for blood donation camps.
