MARO, 17 Mar: Thirty farmers participated in an awareness training-cum-free animal health camporganised here in Upper Subansiri district by Basar (Leparada)-based ICAR AP Centre, in collaboration with the Upper Subansiri KVK, on Monday.
During the programme, ICAR AP Centre veterinary extension senior scientist Dr Doni Jini delivered a lecture on common disease of livestock and poultry, while scientist Rajesh A alone delivered a lecture on common forage trees for cattle and goats.
KVK Head Dr Nyape Bam advised the farmers to take up poultry and piggery in the commercial mode, and young professional Marto Basar urged the farmers to take up maize production for economic benefit and nutritional security.
Animals were provided with first-aid treatment, 500-day-old birds were vaccinated, and veterinary medicines and feed supplements were distributed to the farmers.
