ITANAGAR, 30 Apr: Governor K.T Parnaik has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state especially, the hardworking manual workers-the actual builders of our infrastructure, economy, and national progress-on the occasion of International Labour Day.
The Governor said that, “observed globally as ‘May Day’, the day commemorates the historic struggle for fair labour practices.”
“It is a powerful reminder of the need to uphold workers’ rights, ensure fair wages, promote safe working conditions, and eradicate forced labour,” the Governor said.
“Above all, it is a time to honour the dignity of labour,” he said, adding that “in today’s dynamic and evolving economy, it is imperative that we empower our workforce to meet new challenges with skill, confidence, and resilience.”
“At the same time, it is equally vital that workers continue striving for excellence, productivity, and quality in their contributions to our nation,” Parnaik said.
“On this May Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to ensuring just wages, safety, and security for every worker, in both word and action,” the Governor said. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
