ITANAGAR, 2 May: The NSS Cell of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), in collaboration with the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organised a career counselling-cum-certificate distribution programme here on Thursday.
The event saw the participation of 190 senior NSS volunteers from all 14 departments of DNGC, who were recognised and awarded NSS certificates for their outstanding commitment and dedication. Also, the 30 most active volunteers were awarded certificates of appreciation.
DNGC Principal Dr MQ Khan and NSS Programme Officers Botem Moyong, Phuntso Gombu and Dr Kipa Roni were the resource persons of the programme.
Dr Khan focused on the importance of career development, and provided guidance on various avenues available to the volunteers. He shed light onprestigious entrance exams like the RGUCET and others that could open doors to promising career paths.
Additionally, he stressed the need for responsible use of social media and avoidance of other distractions that could hinder the students’ progress.
“As the volunteers leave their NSS journey behind, armed with newfound knowledge and skills, they are poised to make significant contributions to society,” the college informed in a release.
Moyong highlighted the various activities carried out by the NSS Cell during the last four years.
“This programme serves as a platform for NSS volunteers to reflect on their achievements and chart their future paths. It is an opportunity for them to gain valuable insights and guidance, further strengthening their resolve to make a positive impact in their chosen fields,” said Moyong.
Gombu said that the NSS unit of DNGC “continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young individuals and fostering their personal growth.
“Through initiatives like the career counselling programme, the college aims to empower its students to become responsible citizens and catalysts for change,” Gombu said.
