BOMDILA, 8 Jul: A military-civil fusion capsule was held at RR Hills here in West Kameng district on Tuesday.
The event was organised by the Indian Army to enhance civil-military coordination for effective internal security management and disaster response during conflicts and natural calamities.
Key participants included officials of the district administration, district police, SSB, ITBP, SDRF, NDRF, NCC, and other stakeholders.
The capsule aimed to strengthen collaboration by identifying and integrating various agencies into the overall rear area security framework. Emphasis was laid on coordinating security aspects with the civil administration, civil organisations, and institutions.
Mechanisms for timely information-sharing were discussed in detail, along with the integration of civil defence agencies into the security architecture of the rear areas.
The importance of civil population involvement in information gathering and intelligence-sharing was also highlighted.
Strategies for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief were discussed, focusing on effective resource mapping, information exchange, and joint response mechanisms. Updating of agency records and contact details was also taken up as a key action point.
During the event, the historical significance of the area, current security threats, and comprehensive response plans for emergencies and natural disasters were deliberated upon.
The participating officials shared details of their departments’ available resources and reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated action during any crisis situation.
Col Avinash Swain and Lt Col Gopal of the 351 Infantry Brigade, Rupa ADC Lobsang Tsetan, EAC Phuntso Tashi, DSP Kekdam Lingo, DMO RN Tongchi, Principal Tashi Phuntso, DDMO Mindu Yangzom, Army personnel, and other dignitaries participated in the programme. (DIPRO)
