ZIRO, 21 Feb: A training programme on floriculture and vermicompost-making was conducted by the district training office of the Farmers’ Training Centre Ziro and the Agriculture Technology Management Agency at Seeh Lake here IN Lower Subansiri district on Friday.
During the programme, Assistant Technology Manager Tasso Anu delivered a presentation on floriculture. She elaborated seasonal and perennial flowering plants, techniques of cut flower production, bouquet making, and ways to enhance farmers’ income through floriculture activities. She also highlighted the importance of beautifying the surroundings of Seeh Lake through systematic plantation of ornamental flowers.
Assistant Technology Manager Dani Ringu explained the step-by-step procedure for preparation of vermicompost. He emphasised its uses, benefits, and the advantages of adopting organic farming practices to improve soil health and crop productivity.
FTC Peripatetic Training Officer Koj Horming informed that 25 farmers and stakeholders from Mudang Tage village under Ziro-I participated in the programme. (DIPRO)
