AALO, 24 Mar: Arunachal Pradesh Administrative Reforms Commission (APARC) member Hento Karga said that the APARC is working towards developing the commission into a world-class model.
Chairing a meeting of the Administrative Reforms Commission at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall here in West Siang district on Monday, Karga said that the commission is mandated to submit its report to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh every 10 years. He further said that the state has 45 departments, and the commission is reviewing the recruitment rules of various departments. “Certain posts that are no longer relevant are also under observation for necessary reforms,” he added.
Karga said that reforms in the recruitment process for lower division clerk and upper division clerk will be addressed by the departments concerned. He also emphasised the importance of e-governance, stating that all government officers and officials should undergo training in the area. “The APARC is also working on streamlining hiring processes in some departments,” he said.
Karga directed the district medical officer and the deputy director of school education to submit a list of doctors and teachers currently engaged as programme in-charges or nodal officers. He reiterated that the APARC functions as a high-level committee to recommend measures for enhancing public administration, including improving efficiency, transparency, and citizen-friendly governance.
Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi highlighted the administrative setup and provided insights about West Siang district, while Zilla Parishad Chairperson Nyali Bagra appealed to the government to increase the funding pattern for panchayati raj institutions, and to enhance financial support for the horticulture and agriculture departments to improve the livelihoods of the farmers of the district.
Zilla parishad members and heads of departments shared their suggestions and highlighted various concerns.
The meeting was attended also by PHED Central Zone CE K Pertin, SP Kardak Riba, ADC (HQ) Mabi Taipodia Jini, and Kamba ADC Tamo Riba, along with others. (DIPRO)
