RICHI-JULLANG, Apr 17: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has cancelled all official programmes related to the Nyishi Day celebration, which was to take place on 19 April, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and the enforcement of the second phase of nationwide lockdown.
“However, very, very few executive members of the central, district/regional and block level executives shall gather at their respective HQs and unfurl the Nyishi flag at about 9-10 am as per the existing system by strictly maintaining social distancing and observing SOP as prescribed by the state and union governments on account of Covid-19,” it stated in a release on Friday.
“The Nyishi anthem shall be played electronically while flag hoisting,” it added.
